Anglican Church of the Transfiguration
Mechanic Falls, Maine
In November of 2016, the town of Mechanic Falls deeded this 170-year-old church building to become the newly-formed Anglican Church of the Transfiguration.
The building was no longer being used by the Congregational Church that had formerly worshipped here. Since that time, extensive renovations have been made, both inside and out, to restore this historic place of worship.
The term “Transfiguration” means a change in form or appearance. In Scripture, Jesus takes his disciples Peter, James, and John, up on a high mountain so that they might witness His transformation in His full Glory.
In the process of continuing to transform this gratefully-received legacy, we too are also in the process of continually “being transformed” ourselves, as we share in weekly worship as an Anglican church community.
